File Preparation
To avoid delays, possible production charges, and to optimize efficiency, here are some things to remember while setting up files
- Specify all critical colors with a Pantone number
- If all colors are critical, please provide color matching output to send to printer
- Do not embed any images. Link all images and send with file
- Convert all type to paths unless there will be type changes
- If so send both printer and screen font
- Only provide relevant files for job
- Please provide enough time to process and print job especially if proofs are involved
- Build as one image (if there are separate panels that make one image) at full size
- Please provide some image bleed and indicate .25 of an inch all around minimum
- Always use RGB color space unless otherwise noted
Printing with Light
Most all projects besides fabric are printed using a Lambda (or Lightjet) process. Lambda is using RGB lasers to generate a continuous tone color image on light-sensitive paper with no ink. All Lambda outputs need to be RGB. CMYK to RGB results in a loss of color/image intensity and color accuracy. Files for Lambda printing should be set up at 100dpi. A maximum 200dpi is the limit, but due to high quality printing, 100dpi is very sufficient.
Printing on Fabric
Fabric prints should be set up in CMYK at 100dpi (due to dot gain and texture, higher resolution images for fabric prints are not necessary).
Vinyl Cutting
All vinyl cuts must be in vector format as solid enclosed shapes, no overlaying shapes and NO OUTLINES.
